This striking pair of riads (courtyard mansions) is cleverly connected with a fabulous communal roof terrace. Both offer intimate ambience and simple, stylish whitewashed decor to focus attention on original carved-wood details and stuccowork archways.
Great value on a spare yet stylish little bolt hole, ideal for couples or groups of friends since the jigsaw-like roof terrace sets an intimate mood for parties and romantic evenings snuggled up under the stars. Though the Baraka is more striking and the Karam is swankier, both of these fraternal-twin riads feature shady patios draped with ivory bougainvillea, and all nine guestrooms are simple, comfortable and snazzy - white linen is offset by plush, lipstick-red Berber rugs, and there are plenty of cushions to soften up rather stiff beds.
Again this is one of our simplest yet sophisticated touches we added to Dar Barraka. Restored in the slightest respect of the traditions boasting elegance and sobriety, this small house is home for 5 exquisite rooms giving way to a cooling patio teeming with the finest sounds merging from the fountain that thrones at its milieu. There is nowhere romantic you will dine heartily better than under the candle lit roofs of la maison Barraka. To distress after a bustling day our place has a two leveled terrace that offers stunning views of the Glaoui palace, Koutoubia mosque and relaxing moments under the starry-lit skies of Marrakech.

The Dar Baraka is one of the best Riads in Marrakech par excellence.
Just the name is special as it means the “House of Luck” or “Divine blessing” in Arabic and as soon as you pass its thick white walls, you will be transported to a place of peace and tranquillity, despite being only a 10 minute walk from the bubbling and emblematic Jemma El Fna square. What will be the first thing that will catch your eye?
Perhaps the wonderful courtyard garden, perhaps the sweet serenity. Then again, it may be the excellent use of fabric and colour in the five bedrooms where cushions, lavender shutters with iron covers and the original bathrooms all point to a well an extremely well looked after house.
Lastly, it may be the rooftop with excellent views of Marrakech and beyond. It’s our bet that it will be all these things plus a few more other you will discover on your own. One to enjoy and remember.
This beautiful Dar boasts a central position and offers both guided tours of the Medina and excursions, making it the perfect venue for tourists on a first discovery trip to Marrakesh.
For a full immersion in Moroccan culture, Dar Baraka treats guests not only with elegant facilities and a selection of tasty meals, but also with cooking and pottery classes. For moments of relax after a hectic day of sightseeing, go lounge in the shade of the patio, do some sunbathing on the panoramic rooftop terrace, or indulge the pampering cares of the Hammam beldi.
In room-amenities include a private bathroom with shower or tub, air-conditionning and a fan.
A baby cot can be provided on request.
All guestrooms at guesthouse Dar Baraka iboast a fresh and welcoming décor, simple yet elegant, for serene nights away from the hustle and bustle of the Old Town.

Dar Baraka Karam proposes you a selection of workshops, cooking lessons, calligraphy and henna organized in one of the oldest houses in Fez, and it is addressed to all those who wish to discover the pleasures of the Moroccan table and learn calligraphy and henna tatoo.
Dar Baraka Karam proposes also a selection of proffesionnal guides who allow you to explore the ancient Medina, an old Islamic capital originating from the 11th century. It is enclosed by 16km of ramparts and gates.
The city owes its original splendour to the Almoravide and Almohade dynasties (11th 13th centuries), who made Marrakech into their capital.
The Medina has several architectural and artistic masterpieces from different periods in history:
- the ramparts and gates (in pinkish clay, like most of the original structures)
- the Koutoubia mosque (its 77m high minaret is a key monument of Islamic architecture)
- the Saadian tombs
- Djemaa El-Fna square
- Ben Youssef Madrassa
Beyond the walls, Marrakech has ample areas of greenery at the Palmeira palm groves, and the Menara and Agdal gardens.
